All I want to talk about right now is Game of Thrones seeing as its Monday night and I’ve just finished watching it – like oh my GOODNESS. Ok ok I’ll stop because plenty of people don’t watch it, although I highly recommend you give it a go, watch the first few episodes (not just one!) and then tell me what you think.
I didn’t have the energy to take photo’s this week. In all honesty I don’t have much energy to do much recently, since I started my full time job in February I fell into the slippery slop of having an energy drink with lunch and since having reducing my intake a few weeks ago its been a bit of a struggle. Like all addictions I ignored that it was a bad habit for a long time however a few good conversations pushed me into slowly stopping – always listen to those who care for you.
The trouble with giving up caffeine is that your brain starts telling you at about 2:30pm that your life can simply not continue unless you have your fix. This afternoon that exact feeling came over me and I started to make silly mistakes – I gave up and had a Red Bull. I’m not happy with it but it gave my brain an excuse to wake up for the remainder of the day, tomorrow my internal argument with myself continues! One thing I’ve been trying to instil in myself is to tell someone when I’m not ok. If you’re having a hard day, tell someone you trust – be it your roommate if you’re having a hard time keeping up with house chores or your boss if you are struggling to do your job as per normal. It may be hard but it will be worth it if you are able to figure something out that will make your day a little easier.
Now onto something yummy – Doughnuts! We went to The Oakleigh Doughnut Company which opened a few weekends ago recently. Nick and I checked when it opened and the line was down the street, we weren’t about to line up in the cold but we regularly checked to see if the line was reducing and it was finally quiet one rainy Sunday morning so we practically ran in. The shop feels wonderful and is adjacent to the kitchen that is viewable by a huge window. You can see the staff members decorating the doughnuts and they go straight into the shop! I took ages to choose which one I wanted and finally settled on strawberry cheesecake and Nick a traditional jam and let me tell you they were DELIGHTFUL. I highly recommend you check out TODC if you’re ever in the area (or even if you’re not!)
Thanks for reading lovely people.
xoxo Jess!
